Skillet es una banda de Rock Cristiano, formado en Memphis, Tennessee en 1996. La banda consta de John Cooper, Korey Cooper, Ben Kasica, y Jen Ledger.

Skillet ha publicado siete álbumes de estudio, recibiendo las últimas dos nominaciones al Grammy: Collide y Comatose. En los últimos 12 años, Skillet abarcó diferentes géneros, incluyendo rock alternativo, rock industrial, y Hard Rock.
Skillet se formó en el 1996 con su primer disco llamado "Skillet". El último disco que ha salido a la venta de esta banda se titula "Comatose Deluxe Edition", que contiene 5 temas acusticos del disco "Comatose". f

ormada como una banda en 1996 con dos miembros: John Cooper, ex vocalista de Seraph y Ken Steorts, el guitarrista de Urgent Cry. Viniendo de diferentes estilos de música rock, los dos decidieron nombrar la banda Skillet, ya que el genero que desarrollaron era como "tirar todo en una sartén, y ver que salia". Poco después, Trey McClurkin unió a la banda como bateriista temporal. Skillet apenas tenia de estar formado tan solo un mes antes de que hubiera interés por una de las grandes disqueras cristianas Forefront Records. A finales de 1996 dio a conocer el debut auto-titulado, Skillet. El álbum hizo bien y el trío continuó escribiendo material nuevo, para una gira por los Estados Unidos.
